It’s not too difficult to market your blog. All it takes is some determination and perseverance. You can’t just forget about it for weeks and expect to come back with great results. You have to keep it updated with information and content that people want to read. Here are some techniques for good blog marketing
Interviewing people and posting the interviews on your blog is a great way to market. Interview people who are relevant to the topic of your blog. For example, if you are blogging about making beats, interview established producers who can give good insight to making music.
Also, make sure to post relevant news and events on your blog. Everybody loves to read on current issues about their topic of interest. The more recent the news, the better. Nobody wants to read old news, so stay as current as possible.
Holding contests is a great way for marketing your blog. These are fun for the readers, and will definitely make them return to your blog. Make sure you have good prizes, or else nobody will be motivated to participate. Perhaps the prize should be relevant to the topic of your blog. For example, a MIDI keyboard would be a great prize for a contest on a blog about making beats.
Commenting on blogs is a very important part of blog marketing. Always answer and acknowledge the comments on your blog, and participate in commenting on other people’s blogs. This makes you seem more real and accessible, and also gives readers more reason to return.
Another important thing in blog marketing is exchanging links. Ask other blog writers to post links to your blog in exchange for posting his or her links on your own blog. The more links there are of your blog on the web, the more traffic you will get.
As long as you keep your blog interesting, interactive, and current, you will generate more and more traffic. Eventually, you will generate loyal readers and in the end, more profit.
Like all other websites marketing, make sure you educate yourself about SEO (search engine optimization) and the art of directing traffic to your website. There are many ways to increase traffic, including software tools that do some of the work automatically. Some of these may be pricey, but from personal experience, this is an investment that is definitely worth it!
